The Fall Classic 2014 - Pre-Tournament Preparations
T.D. announces dates and location of the 2014 Fall Classic
The Fall Classic returns to Crown Colony for 30th Anniversary
World B. Freeman will be looking to repeat as the Fall Classic champion as the tournament returns to Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin, TX on Sept. 25-28 for the 30th anniversary of the Fall Classic. This is the second straight year and fifth time in the last six years that The Fall Classic has been held at Crown Colony. Please mark your calendars and let T.D. know your plans as soon as possible.
2014 Captains Named: Murph Looks to Retain Cup, The Jap Takes Helm For the First Time Since 2006
Captain Murph will be looking to defend his 2013 Captains' Cup victory as he returns to lead his blue team for the second straight year. Last year Murph's Blue Team used superior coaching and a strong finish to turn a closely contested battle into a relatively easy victory over The Red Team which was led by Captain Syrupy; however this year the challenge looks to be much more difficult as The Jap returns as captain for the first time since the inaugural Captains' Cup in 2006. Best of luck to both captains and their teams.
Pre-Classic Meeting held
A small but distinguished group of Fall Classic participants gathered at T.D.'s house for this year's Pre-Classic meeting. T.D. served up some boudin, sausage po-boys and Coronas, while Syrupy offered up a very sophisticated ice cream sandwich cake for dessert. Handicaps were discussed and decided upon, and then the captains selected their teams. Everything was great and a good time was had by all.
A few changes were discussed and approved by the committee (actually the committee had already implemented the changes, he just let the rest of us discuss them to make us feel important). The changes include the following:
- The Senior division cut-off was changed from 75 to 80 (sum of your age and your handicap).
- The Super Senior division cut-off was set at the sum of "The Factor's" age and handicap.
- The Senior Tee handicap adjustment was changed from -3 to -4.
- The Super Senior Tee handicap adjustment was set at -2.
- The format for Friday afternoon was changed from 3/3/3 to a 2-Man 9 hole scramble.
- For the Friday afternoon 2-Man 9 hole scramble and the Saturday afternoon 6/6/6 competition, everyone will tee off from the Men's tees except for those in the Super Senior division, a.k.a. "The Factor".

0 | $200.00 | - |

3 | $100.00 | $33.33 each |
4 | $100.00 | $25.00 each |
Example #1:
Pat wins the Championship. No one picked him with their pick. The pot would be split based on zero people picking the winner:
- Pat (Champ's share) : $200.00
Example #2:
Pat wins the Championship. Mike and Perry picked Pat to win with their pick. Therefore the pot would be split based on two people picking the winner:
- Pat (Champ's share) : $100.00
- Mike (Picker's share) : $50.00
- Perry (Picker's share) : $50.00
Example #3:
Pat wins the Championship. Mike, Perry, and Pat picked Pat (you can pick yourself). Therefore the pot would be split based on three people picking the winner:
- Pat (Champ's share + Picker's share) : $100.00 + $33.33 = $133.33
- Mike (Picker's share) : $33.33
- Perry (Picker's share) : $33.33
