The Fall Classic Modified Calcutta
The 2008 Fall Classic will once again feature the Modified Calcutta. For those of you that have forgotten how the Modified Calcutta works, here is a refresher course:
Everyone puts up $15, for a total of $240 in the Calcutta.
Each participant will have ownership in three (3) golfers:
- Yourself
- Free pick (you can pick anyone in the field that you think might win the Championship, picks will be made prior to the first tee time on Thursday)
- A pick obtained via a draw (the draw will take place at dinner on Thursday or Friday)
# of people picking winner | Champ's Share | Picker's Share | Drawer's Share |
---|---|---|---|
0 | $200.00 | - | $40.00 |
1 | $100.00 | $100.00 | $40.00 |
2 | $80.00 | $60.00 each | $40.00 |
3 | $80.00 | $40.00 each | $40.00 |
4 | $80.00 | $32.00 each | $32.00 |
5 | $80.00 | $26.67 each | $26.67 |
6 | $80.00 | $22.86 each | $22.86 |
Example #1:
Pat wins the Championship. No one picked him with their pick. Sal drew Pat out of the hat. The pot would be split based on zero people picking the winner:
- Pat (Champ's share) : $200.00
- Sal (Drawer's share) : $40.00
Example #2:
Pat wins the Championship. Mike and Perry picked Pat to win with their pick. Sal drew Pat out of the hat. Therefore the pot would be split based on two people picking the winner:
- Pat (Champ's share) : $80.00
- Mike (Picker's share) : $60.00
- Perry (Picker's share) : $60.00
- Sal (Drawer's share) : $40.00
Example #3:
Pat wins the Championship. Mike, Perry, and Pat picked Pat (you can pick yourself). Perry also drew Pat out of the hat. Therefore the pot would be split based on three people picking the winner:
- Pat (Champ's share + Picker's share) : $80.00 + $40.00 = $120.00
- Mike (Picker's share) : $40.00
- Perry (Picker's share + Drawer's share) : $40.00 + $40.00 = $80.00
Trash
Every Par 3 will feature a "Closest To The Hole" competition with the winner receiving $5. Also one hole each day will be feature a "Long Drive" competition, which will also pay $5 to the winner.
